The Root Chakra - Muladhara

The Root Chakra is one of the most important chakras to have in balance. This is the base of everything that is produced within and without of you. It is the beginning and with distortions in this chakra, the whole life can feel unsteady & unsafe.

The Root Chakra regulates security, safety, and stability, all qualities in which people who have experienced addiction, trauma and abuse may struggle to attain. When the Root Chakra is in balance you will feel grounded, unmovable, unshakable, safe & secure. The Root chakra can be a powerful way to dissolve attachment disorders as it allows you to attach to the Earth & the Endless Flow of Universal Energy. In this way, it helps people to have a sustainable connection to a Source of Power- the very thing they are desperately searching for through interactions with others and their environment. An unbalanced malfunctioning Root Chakra will leave you constantly insecure, unstable, and trying to manipulate your reality for your basic survival needs and instincts.

The Root Chakra shines with the color Red. It is located at the base of the spine in the center of your sit bones. It’s vortex is pointed down into the ground. The mantra associated with the Root chakra is “I AM” and its resonance is chanted as “LAM.”

The Sacral Chakra - Svadhisthana

The Sacral Chakra is the seat of your emotional connection with yourself and others. When this chakra is in balance it allows you to flow freely and appropriately with your emotions. It regulates sexuality and sensuality as well as connects your sexual or spiritual energy to others. When you feel intense sexual chemistry with someone you will feel this chakra activate intensely. Because this chakra is connected to emotions and sexuality, when out of balance, sexuality may be used as a distorted outlet for intense and blocked emotions. Emotional energy that gets repressed, especially having to do with sexual issues, may manifest as low back pain, or excessive acting out sexually that may be harmful to self and others. Balance in this chakra will produce appropriate emotional release and expression of feelings.

This chakra is also deeply connected to your mother as her womb is connected to you through this chakra. When in balance the sacral chakra will allow creative flow into the life, as it is connected to the womb and reproductive areas, and allows the energy of co-creation.

The Sacral Chakra is located right under the belly button and in the lumbar spine. It’s vortex’s flow out both sides of the spine, front and back. The sacral chakra is Orange and benefits from sungazing at morning or evening, especially over water, as this chakra is also associated with fluidity of life. The mantra for this chakra is “I FEEL” and its resonance chant is “VAM.”

The Solar Plexus Chakra is associated with the will to accomplish your goals and missions in life. This chakra aligns you to your higher purpose and the Divine Will or God’s Will. It will empower you with the ability to let go of trying to control people or situations and allow the Divine plan to unfold. This Chakra gives us our Power back and allows us to dissolve the victim mentality as we take responsibility for our life, our choices, our attitudes, and our destiny. When in alignment it will give you the feeling that you can and will manifest anything you put your mind to. It gives you a sense of self esteem and diminishes doubt in yourself or others.

The Solar Plexus Chakra can assist with control issues as you will be connected to the Power of the Universe when in alignment. It will allow you to be fluid and flexible through life instead of ridged or controlling. Control issues stem essentially from fear and lack of Power over yourself and your life.

The Solar Plexus is ruled by the color yellow and is located at the bottom of the ribs in the center of the torso. Its mantra is “I WILL or I DO” and its resonance chant is “RAM.”

It will assist in forgiving those who have harmed you, as you are now connected to the Unconditional Love of the Divine Spirit. It allows you to extend grace towards others and cover their spiritual sicknesses with Love. You will fearlessly be able to connect with others and share in the gifts of life without insecurity in your heart.

Blockages in the Heart Chakra produce a feeling of emptiness. A great void that is left unfulfilled with an unquenchable longing. Heart Chakra distortions can load layers of burden onto your shoulders with the feeling of being unloved and uncared for, abandoned or discarded. This emptiness leads to jealousy, bitterness, defensiveness, ego driven self seeking and isolation from others. Isolation and the inability to connect with others is a common trauma response. It is a way for the disharmonious heart chakra energy to sabotage the self, love, and all of the things that you truly want.

Codependency and severe attachment issues can be connected to the heart chakra imbalances, as well as all the chakras below it. When in balance it will allow a healthy interdependence within relationships as well as a sense of freedom and wholeness allowing you to connect to others from a heart centered whole space.

When the Throat Chakra is in balance, it will give you the strength to speak about difficult topics. In Hinduism, the holy book the Bhagavad Gita states that you are supposed to speak what comes to your intuitive mind as it can be an important part of the divine unfolding, and an important role you have as a divine messenger. When this chakra is in alignment it allows you to speak the things that come into your intuition. It also allows you to give genuine compliments and praise to others.

When this chakra is out of balance you may have a difficult time speaking up for yourself and expressing who you are. You may fear saying something wrong, or you may keep things you want to say to yourself. Oppression of any kind causes distortions and blocks to this chakra. Spewing off with hateful or abusive words is a sign that this chakra is not balanced as it is not a thoughtful or gentle expression or use of the tongue. Sharp, cutting words is an abuse of power that flows from this chakra. Energetic distortions, clogs and blocks in the Throat Chakra can cause neck, throat, thyroid disorders & other ailments associated with this area. Not speaking your feelings or your truth will give you the feeling of that “lump in your throat” and this is the process of repressing, clogging and distorting not only the Throat Chakra but many of the other chakras. When this chakra is out of balance you may have the feeling that life is not the way it should be, it should be different, that you are not in the right place. You may have obsessive thoughts, become overly stuck or fearful of the past or future. Crown Chakra blocks and distortions appear as dense ridged beliefs, dualistic mentalities, seeing things as separate from the whole, severely limiting cultural conditioning, my way or the highway attitudes, egotistical and self serving.

When this chakra is imbalanced the ego will try to compete with others for the spotlight as the ego separates people as different, better than others, or superior and it is a misuse of this chakra’s power. Ego-Crown Chakra imbalances steal primordial energy from others, accumulating it for their selfish gains. This abuse is spiritual robbery and is completely in violation of others. It is prideful, arrogant, and selfish as this is a deep spiritual sickness. It stems from their lack of connection to Source and the actual need to fill their internal emptiness by taking power from others. We understand that they, too, have had their power or atomantom particles taken or used up at some point during their life. So we understand that this is just part of their journey, as well as the journey of those affected, however, we do want to assist people out of these cycles.

The Crown Chakra is all about dissolving the ego & the differences among people, structures or ideas and uniting in the commonalities. It’s about unity, togetherness, equality, fellowship, service, and rising together—not alone and not on a high horse.

The Crown Chakra is white golden, violet light and is located at the crown of the head with its vortex opening upward. The mantra for the Crown Chakra is “I UNDERSTAND” and its resonance chant is “AUM.”
